Each year, what he gives to me grows

“Seven years ago, Pongo was my birthday present. Each year, what he gives to me grows. When I get home and put my feet up, he’s right there. He’ll put his head between my feet with his eyes telling me, ‘Oh, I’m so glad you’re home.’ He’s such a love!

When my husband Brian goes to kiss me, Pongo will often put himself in the middle. He does it nicely, but it always makes me think of my dad and brother who have both passed away. It’s such a dad and brother thing to do! They say the pets in our lives are often sent by the special people who have passed on. I believe that’s true because I feel it every day.  When I’m with Pongo, I feel, not just his love for me, but my dad’s and brother’s love as well.”
