I’d been wanting to do a Furever USA shoot with my entire family since learning about them on FB and finally booked our session for the end of August. Before the shoot, I visited the website several times, clicked on each link, viewed each photo, and read each review. When they described an “experience,” I remember thinking to myself, “really? That sounds a little exaggerated.” But truth be told, it really was an experience. Before your session, a staff member will call you and you’ll chat for about 30 minutes about the impact your dogs have had on your life. If there are multiple people in the photos, they’ll get calls too. For our session, I was the only one who got a call because my husband, parents, and brother are persons of few words, so I was the spokesperson for our family. It also worked out because I know if they also received calls that they would be self-conscious and less relaxed during the session. On the day of there were no lights, fancy setups, or anything you’d expect from a photo session. It was a couch in the middle of a small studio with natural lighting, people sitting around, cuddling dogs, and talking about how awesome they are. That was it. And from that, Dee was able to capture some special moments—“micro-moments” she called them—that can only be captured by someone who is in tune with and truly understands the bond between a person and their dog. After the shoot we went away for about an hour, and when we returned the studio was converted into what can be likened to your own private movie room, except you view the photos you took set to music instead of watching a movie. Our three were tired from the excitement so they just snoozed (and snored) in our arms while my husband and I selected photos for our photo box. Originally, we thought we’d just do the package with the three 8x10s, but after seeing the moments Dee captured there was no way we could leave with only three pictures. We went with the 8x10 photo box and ended up paying WAY more than we planned to spend, but in the end we justified it by saying: 1) 5% of what we spend would go to the animal organization of our choice; 2) it’s the best deal of the ones they offered; and 3) these are memories that were captured exactly how we wanted to remember them. We’re going to pick up our photo box on Thursday and can’t wait! The studio had a sample box handy, so we were able to see firsthand the craftsmanship of the box and prints. The box is a beautiful way to display your photo (one at a time, but you can change which one goes in the window), and the prints are of the highest quality on the best mat and paper. It’s not print-at-Walgreens-and-buy-a-mat-from-Michael’s kind of quality. When it comes to the products, you definitely get what you pay for. I’ve already recommended booking an experience to all of the dog lovers in my life, and I’m recommending it to you, the reader, and encourage you to mention my name (Chanel Urbiztondo) because if you do we BOTH get either an 8x10 or a $150 credit! (If you don’t mention anyone’s name you don’t get the print/credit.) So don’t forget, WHEN you book your experience, tell them Chanel sent you!
My experience was beyond my expectations! The photos were so incredible , the staff is awesome and I am beyond grateful that I was able to capture these moments with my babies 🐾🐕💗 highly recommended!
They are THE BEST! My two dogs and cat were welcomed, felt loved, and truly enjoyed the whole experience - as much as I did! I wish I could do this every month, I've recommended to many friends already and will continue to do so!! xoxo
What an amazing place. Celebrating rescues in this way is such a great idea. They were able to capture my kiddos personalities, helping the world to see them the way I do everyday.
I can’t say enough nice things about Furever Reno! The entire team was top-notch-my thanks to Erin, Mary Christine and Jason for a truly exceptional experience. The pictures of my dogs are so unique and their furry personalities perfectly caught. I’ve had pictures of my pets before, but never like this. Once again can’t thank Furever Reno enough for an amazing experience and a outstanding pet portrait.
Our first rescue through Boxers and Buddies is in the 2018 book, Charley. Having the pictures done was an awesome experience. Sadly we lost Charley in January 2018 to Lymphoma. Everyone at Furever treats you like family, loves dogs and cats and it's always hugs all around from all involved with the project. We have the pictures Christie did on our great room wall, and we can see them every single day. Our second rescue Murray even barked at Charley's pictures shortly after we adopted him, after all Murray didn't know who Charley was. Furever Reno is a phenomenal project with a goal to help rescues and get dogs adopted. They are a wonderful group of creative minds. We are looking forward to having them shoot pictures of Murray.
Loved meeting Christy and Jasen, their kids and dogs at Bar K Dog Bar last night. Living and breathing the rescue story!!
What I like/love about Furever Reno/USA is the loving care everyone there has for the project. . . . and the animals and their humans! The photography is world class and the book they produce annually is also totally world class. I have a hunch, this will soon be Furever World!!
We have so much fun during our session, even if our cats didn’t.😂 Our pictures were amazing.
Our experience with Furever USA was more than we could've expected! Seeing their amazing photos online is one thing but there's no emotional connection until it's your dog and your family in the photos! It just takes it to a whole different level! The photos turned out way better than I could have ever imagined! Be warned you're going to want to buy all the photos!!
